Something New!

I am a novice blogger as I have not had any previous experience with Blogs prior to this moment. I am a teacher and a student near Washington, D.C. I currently have conflicting feelings about blogs. I am a little uneasy about posting my personal thoughts and ideas, but after reading the first few chapters of Blogs, Wikis, Podcasts and Other Powerful Web Tools for Classrooms by Will Richardson and many of my classmates' blogs and can appreciate the potential value blogs have to offer. I am looking forward to the adventure we/I have started and I am interested to learn more about the opportunities Web 2.0 has to offer for students in the classroom and around the world.

  1. I can understand your hesitancy, but like you, I am excited about "the adventure" part of it. I think it'll be rewarding in the end.

  2. I can understand about your reservations and I am new to blogging too. I tend to feel better and more confident about how I'm thinking when I have the feedback from others to help. However, I am still interested in how all of this can fit into my first grade curriculum other than to communicate with my students' parents.

  3. I can appreciate what you've said. I myself am a little reserved about blogging. Maybe that will fix itself after the readings. I am struggling with how to use this in a kindergarten class where the kids barely know their letters. I thought I could do this with parents but then I am not sure I would want to open that door with them.
